Who We Are

I'm Rilla Long, founder of The Equine Clothes Line. In 1990, I set up shop as an all-purpose sewing service called Home Sewn and began selling helmet covers and schooling tights to people I knew. Soon someone asked me to repair a horse blanket. One look at that blanket told me it had to be cleaned before I could work on it.

As a result, I began to wonder if there might be a need for an equine-focused sewing/laundry service that understood the requirements of the equestrian community. This turned out to be on the mark. I changed our name to The Equine Clothes Line because it better describes who we are and what we do. As a Pony Club mom and the owner of horses, I've been able to join my life-long love of horses with my sewing abilities to focus exclusively on equine services and products.

The Equine Clothes Line offers full-service laundry, repair and alteration of equine clothing as well as a select line of equestrian custom-made items. We are not a large-scale manufacturer and can neither re-invent the wheel nor compete against large manufacturing companies. What we can do is provide personalized, friendly service and create quality products that you may not be able to find at the large shops and mail order outlets. I enjoy meeting my customers and their horses. If you are looking for something unique or unusal, I may be able to help you.
